Gary Vaynerchuk talks about the importance of “macro” thinking entrepreneur

Fan-favorite entrepreneur and businessman Gary Vaynerchuk knows a thing or two about starting a business and building a brand, and now he’s sharing how to use that mindset.

Appearing on New York Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist’s “30 Club With Henrik Lundqvist” podcast, Vaynerchuk spoke to the soon-to-be Hall of Famer about the importance of having a strong work ethic and thinking big in starting a business and being successful.

He said clearly: “Hard work is not mental and cannot be discussed.” “Work ethic is a huge variable in life.”

Vaynerchuk told Lundqvist that he launched his sports agency, VaynerSports, after a difficult year dealing with a family member’s health issues.

The entrepreneur explained how he changed his mindset to focus on what could be fulfilling, and that’s what starting a sports agency meant. Instead of fearing the unknown and resisting jumping into an already saturated market, Vaynerchuk’s attitude was: “Let’s be the biggest.”

“I love competition, and when you love competition and you love the game, you hate to lose,” Vaynerchuk said. “But you have to wait for the result. I think a lot of entrepreneurs hate other entrepreneurs and it drives me crazy.”

It’s this attitude that Vaynerchuk believes separates successful entrepreneurs from those who fail.

“If you say ‘no’ to something, it means it’s over, if you say maybe, life is completely different,” he says. “I don’t think I am [as successful as] My competitors, but I am its inspiration and purpose. And I might not get there, but I don’t know why I don’t try. “I don’t think I’m delusional, I think I’m capable.”

Vaynerchuk chalks this up to thinking on a “macro level” and how adopting a “go big or go home” mindset can pave the way for what’s to come.

“I decided at 11 years old that I wanted to buy the New York Jets, and I believe there is a direct correlation to how successful I have been based on that,” Vaynerchuk explained. “I don’t operate to maximize money, I operate to maximize pleasure. Even though I’ve made a lot of money, I’m very aware that I could have raised more. I want to achieve my goals in my own way. I’m all about the process.” “Even though I’m the entrepreneur and it’s all up to me, I don’t control the world, I control my reaction to it.”
